I get a ton of questions about my daytime and nighttime skin routines. I have had my fair share of ups and downs with products over the years. Products constantly telling me to use this for this and this for this; The struggle is real. With being a Florida girl, my skin is usually on the oily side, but this past Winter and having more mature skin than in my 20’s, my skin has been on the drier side of things. This is so sad, y’all!
It’s great to get in a routine for your daytime products as well as your nighttime products. If you stick with a routine for six weeks or more, you will see results. Just stick with it! And most importantly, keep the day and night products separate. There is no point in wearing sunscreen at night. So with that being said, after some grueling product testing of MANY-o-products, I have finally nailed down what products work best for my skin for day and night.
Skinceuticals Simply Clean Gel– I started getting in the habit of washing my face every morning before applying makeup. This is huge given the fact that I used to only wash my face at night. This is game changing for sure. This way I get all my nighttime products off my face to prep for the day. This gel is great and works for all skin types. It washes all my makeup away and leaves nothing behind.
Biologique Lotion P50 “1970”– This is my absolute favorite toner right now! It breaks down all the grime in my pores without being to harsh on my skin. The tingling effect means that it’s working and I see a huge difference when I’m not using it. I wouldn’t recommend this specific one if your pregnant or breastfeeding, but they have this one that is more mild.
Skinceuticals C E Ferulic– I love this stuff. A facialist told be about this product a few years ago and I never looked back. I have definitely noticed my face is brighter and firmer. It only takes a small amount to get the protection and radiance you need.
Drunk Elephant C Firma– I recently added this in my rotation. I tend to switch between this and the C E Ferulic serum. I like the boost of vitamin C it gives the skin and I feel like it makes my skin look and feel more plump throughout the day.
Belif True Cream Moisturizing Bomb– I have been loving this moisturizer since I first received a sample of it from Sephora. It’s super light without being greasy and keeps my skin hydrated all day.
Skinceuticals Physical Matte Defense Sunscreen– I try to always apply a good sunscreen under my makeup for the day. Sunscreens can tend to get a little oily so I try to stick with a more mattifying one like this or this one.
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant– I will use this light exfoliating scrub about two times a week. This helps rid my skin of bumpy texture and to smooth everything out. I wash my face with my regular face wash and follow up with this after. This is so light that you could use it daily, but I look at it as a treat to use every so often.
Drunk Elephant Framboos Glycolic Serum– I’m sure you’ve heard me talk about this on my Instagram, but I can’t get enough! I love this product to help with shrinking my pores. It totally works! If you use this for a solid six weeks, you’ll see a huge difference.
OleHenriksen Brightening Gel Eye Creme– This is a great product for under the eyes. When I wake up, my dark circles are diminished, the texture is smooth, and all around brighter. I use this under my eyes and on top of my eyelids to get maximum results.
Tarte Maracuja Oil– I love love love this stuff! I know it seems very intimidating to wear an oil at night, but trust me, it’s the best thing for your skin. In the morning, my skin will have soaked it up making it feel softer and more plump. ‘Nough said.
