Brows are probably the most wanted makeup topic to talk about. I get so many questions about my brows and what products I use to achieve the “perfect brow”. We all have that one brow that refuses to cooperate. Don’t worry! That’s every woman. It’s true! Our brows were not made to be the same and that’s ok! Let’s just accept the fact they were made to be sisters and not twins. Plan and simple.
I’ve had my fair share of moments with my brows over the years, especially that time I had the middle waxed so terribly, I’m surprised it all grew back. To make matters worse, this was before brow products were a thing and I’m pretty sure I used an eyeliner to fill in the missing hair. Not a good look! Thank goodness we now have amazing products for moments like this and for day-to-day looks to add a little color into our brows.
I use a few different products to achieve a great brow. I like to switch it up between a cream, pencil, and a powder. You get a different look with each product which is fun because no makeup look is ever really the same. Here are my thoughts on each product used and what to expect from each.
Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil– I love using this pencil because of the definition it has. The pencil is fine and can create strokes of hair if needed. I like to use a lighter and a darker color when using these, because it creates the effect of real hair and gives dimension to the brow. I set it with the Benefit Gimme Brow gel to add more texture and set my brows for the day. Patience is key when creating a great brow with this product, so don’t rush.
Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder– I use a brow powder almost daily. It creates a soft, full looking brow and glides on easily with a thin slanted brush. The duo powder is great to create a darker boarder and fill in with the lighter color. It’s a quick and easy way to add a hint of color to the brows and finish off your makeup look. I will even hit the gym at the end of the day and my brows are still there.
Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade– My sister loves this for her brows. This is great for filling in both thinner and thicker brows. It’s a deep pigmented gel that glides on smooth with waterproof qualities. Perfect for us Florida gals and not wanting to give up brows for the pool. Use a thin, slanted brush and you can create the look of hair. You definitely have to have a light hand applying this product, but the end result is amazing.
